Cinque Terre Day Trip
The full day-trip begins bright and
early. First thing in the morning, your guide will collect you from
the meet point, where you'll climb aboard an air-conditioned coach and
relax on a 2-hour journey to Cinque Terre, five romantic villages clinging
to the rugged ravine.
The first stop is Manarola, the oldest
of the Cinque Terre villages. The village’s economy is based on fishing and
viticulture.
From Manarola, you will take a train to
Riomaggiore, a charming thirteenth-century hamlet famous for its
local wine, and with a little over 1.500 residents.
Continue the journey to Monterosso, where
you spend approximately two hours. This village is located in a small natural
gulf and is famous for its long beaches and crystal-blue sea. Weather
permitting, you’ll admire the stunning views of Cinque Terre from the
water.
Upon arrival in Monterosso, you will stop
for lunch (if you have booked this option) and you will have time to discover
this charming village at your own leisure. From Monterosso you will continue
the tour by train to Vernazza, a delightful fishing
village enclosing a natural harbour. You will arrive here at approximately
3:45 pm.
Finally, you will hop back
on a train that will cross La Spezia until you get to where the coach
is waiting for you to head back to Florence. The tour comes to an end at 7:30
pm in Piazzale Montelungo, near Santa Maria Novella station.
