Itinerary
The Venice guided tour begins at 9am at the foot of the clock
tower in St Mark's square: the epicentre of the city. St Mark's Basilica can be
found in this square, as well as the Doge's Palace, St Mark's Clock Tower and
the 3 buildings which form "the Procuratie."
The tour continues towards Santa Maria Formosa, one of the
most storied squares in all Venice. Here one can find the church of Santa Maria
Formosa.
The next step on the tour will take us to the Campo de SS.
Giovanni e Paolo, taking in the Venice "Pantheon" and the Scuola dell
Carità complex, home of the Gallerie dell'Accademia.
To really travel back in time we will visit the house of
Marco Polo, history's most famous explorer, and the Malibran Theatre, one of
the most important theatres of 17th and 18th centuries.
The tour will end back at
St. Mark's Square, having passed through Le Mercerie: the principle commercial
artery of the city, and one of its most lively streets.
