TRAVEL ITINERARY
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN LUCERNE
Arrival
in Lucerne by train 2nd class from the Swiss border or airport.
Overnight
in Lucerne.
DAY 2 – LUCERNE
Full
day at leisure in Lucerne. We suggest the following optional excursions: Mount
Titlis with its famous revolving cablecar, Mount Pilatus the Golden round trip
or Mount Rigi the Queen of the mountains. Overnight in Lucerne.
DAY 3 – LUCERNE TO LUGANO (2H10)
Train
journey from Lucerne to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel – with
57 kilometres it is the longest train tunnel in the world. It takes only 17
minutes to travel this fast flat-track route under the Alpine massif in the
heart of Europe. Optional add the Gotthard Panorama Express. Rest of the day at
leisure.

in Lugano.
DAY 4 – BERNINA EXPRESS TO
ST.MORITZ (6H45)
Today
you travel with the Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway along the UNESCO
World Heritage route. Enjoy an Alpine switchback ride, taking you from the
high, towering glaciers of the mountains down to the swaying palms of Italy.
The Bernina Express is the highest railway line across the Alps, linking
Northern and Southern Europe in the most spectacular way! First the Bernina Express
coach takes you to Tirano where you will have time for an optional lunchbreak.
Then board the Bernina Express train to St. Moritz.

DAY 5 – GLACIER EXPRESS TO
ZERMATT (8H)
Today
you board the Glacier Express for one of the greatest train journeys in the
world. On an 8 hour rail journey the world’s slowest express train takes you
across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2’033 m.
Travel in comfort through the unspoilt natural beauty of a landscape rich in
ancient, fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain
streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries-old culture.

in Zermatt.
DAY 6 – MATTERHORN GLACIER
PARADISE (2H)
An
incomporable experience awaits you today. The Zermatt Bergbahnen take you up to
the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise which is Europe’s highest cable car station at
3883 m. For a little fee you may take the Crystal Ride cabins from Trockener
Steg to the summit, an unbeatable experience. The 360° panorama is unique and
many highlights are waiting for you to be discovered. Rest of day at your
leisure.

in Zermatt.
DAY 7 – ZERMATT TO MONTREUX
(2H40)
Today you take a regional train through the
Valais, which is well known for its excellent wines, to Montreux. We recommend
a visit to Chillon Castle, a moated castle on the shores of lake Geneva.
Overnight in Montreux.
DAY 8 – MONTREUX TO INTERLAKEN
(3H)
Train journey with the GoldenPass Panoramic
train (or optional GoldenPass Belle Époque) take you to Zweisimmen then with
the GoldenPass Line to Interlaken. You find yourself among alpine forests,
bubbling mountain springs and picturesque mountain villages. Possibility to
stop in Gstaad for an optional excursion to Glacier 3000.

in Interlaken.
DAY 9 –JUNGFRAUJOCH (4H)
Another
highlight of your visit in Switzerland awaits you. Enjoy a journey to the
Jungfraujoch Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe located at
3454 m. Don’t miss out the following attractions: Alpine Sensation, Sphinx,
Jungfrau Panorama, Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven, Ice Palace and Snow Fun.

in Interlaken.
DAY 10 – INTERLAKEN TO ZURICH
(2H)
Train
journey along the lake of Thun to Berne and possiblity for a stopover to
discover Switzerland’s beautiful capital. Continue to Zurich and time at your
leisure to discover the metropolis on the shore of lake Zurich.

in Zurich
DAY 11 – DEPARTURE FROM ZURICH
Time
at leisure in Zurich. Return to Swiss border or airport or individual onward
journey.
